Materials Available
From PLA to carbon fiber composites — materials for every stage of product development.
PLA (Polylactic Acid)
PLA is a popular 3D printing material known for its ease of use, great surface quality, and dimensional accuracy. It’s biodegradable and cost-effective, making it ideal for quick prototypes and non-functional parts.
Use Cases: Best for creating non-functional prototypes, mock-ups, and visual models where strength and heat resistance are not essential. Ideal for quick and affordable 3D printed parts with a smooth finish.
PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol)
PETG offers excellent durability, impact resistance, and chemical resistance, making it a reliable 3D printing material for parts requiring strength and durability. PETG’s superior layer adhesion reduces the risk of delamination and minimizes warping.
Use Cases: Ideal for durable 3D printed parts like electronic enclosures, protective covers, and cable management systems. Perfect for projects needing chemical resistance and a strong, stable structure.
ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate)
ASA is an advanced 3D printing material similar to ABS but with enhanced UV resistance and weatherability. It offers impact resistance, heat resistance, and mechanical strength, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Use Cases: Best for outdoor 3D printed parts such as weather-resistant electronics housings, security camera casings, and automotive components. ASA is ideal for durable parts that need to withstand temperature changes and exposure to UV light.
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)
TPU is a flexible, rubber-like 3D printing material known for its excellent elasticity and shock absorption. It provides wear resistance and resilience, making it ideal for 3D printed parts that require flexibility and impact resistance.
Use Cases: Perfect for flexible 3D printing applications such as wearable devices, phone cases, and flexible joints in consumer electronics. Great for parts that need to bend, absorb impact, or provide a soft-touch feel.
Nylon (Polyamide)
Nylon is a strong, flexible, and abrasion-resistant 3D printing material suitable for parts requiring durability and chemical resistance. This material is commonly used for mechanical parts that need to endure stress and wear.
Use Cases: Best for high-strength 3D printed parts like gears, hinges, and other mechanical components in electronics. Ideal for parts requiring flexibility, durability, and chemical resistance.
Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Filaments
Carbon fiber-reinforced filaments combine a base material (usually PLA, ABS, or Nylon) with carbon fibers for added strength and stiffness. This lightweight, high-performance 3D printing material is ideal for applications that require both strength and reduced weight.
Use Cases: Perfect for high-strength 3D printed parts such as drone frames, camera mounts, and other lightweight, load-bearing structures. Ideal for creating parts that need structural integrity without added bulk.
ESD-Safe Filaments
ESD-safe filaments are formulated with special additives to safely dissipate electrostatic discharge, protecting sensitive electronics from damage. These materials typically use a base polymer like ABS, PETG, or Nylon, combined with conductive or static-dissipative compounds to control surface resistivity.
Use Cases:
Ideal for 3D printing jigs, trays, enclosures, and fixtures used in electronics manufacturing, PCB handling, or cleanroom environments. Perfect for applications where electrostatic protection is critical without sacrificing part strength or printability.
We’re continually adding to our material library. If you’re looking for a specific filament or want guidance on material selection, our team is happy to help.

Why Choose Concept 274
Not just another print-on-demand shop — real engineers, real support, real results.
Concept 274 is a Florida-based product design studio offering precision 3D printing with the insight and care of an engineering team. Unlike large, anonymous platforms, we provide hands-on guidance, fast turnaround, and the flexibility to support everything from early-stage prototypes to low-volume production parts.
Here’s what sets us apart:
Engineer-Led, Not Algorithm-Driven
Every part is reviewed by a design engineer — not just run through automated checks. We understand tolerances, fit, stress points, and material behavior so you get prints that actually work.
Direct Support from Experts
Have questions about materials, print orientation, or file prep? You won’t deal with a call center — you’ll speak directly with our in-house team. We’re here to support your success, not just push parts out the door.
Fast Turnaround with Quality Control
We offer short lead times without compromising print quality. Each order is inspected before shipment to ensure consistency and performance.
Specialized Materials You Can’t Get Elsewhere
We offer ESD-safe filaments, carbon fiber composites, and engineering-grade polymers — all under one roof, with expert guidance on selecting the right material for your use case.
Seamless Transition to Product Development
Because we’re a full-service product design studio, you can scale from prototype to production without switching vendors. If you need design help, we’re ready when you are.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before ordering your 3D printed parts.
What file types do you accept?
We accept STL, STEP (.stp/.step), IGES (.igs/.iges), and OBJ files. If you’re not sure which format to use, STEP is usually best for mechanical parts and assemblies.
Do I need a completed 3D model to get a quote?
Yes — this service is for 3D printing only, based on the CAD files you upload. If you need help preparing or creating a model, schedule a free consultation to discuss our product design services.
How long does 3D printing take?
Typical turnaround time is 2–3 business days for most in-house FDM prints. Lead times may vary depending on material, quantity, or if special post-processing is required. Rush options are available upon request.
Can you print ESD-safe or carbon fiber parts?
Yes. We offer ESD-safe materials for electronics applications and carbon fiber-reinforced filaments for strong, lightweight components. See our Materials section for details.
Is my design confidential?
Absolutely. We regularly work with proprietary and sensitive designs. If you need additional assurance, we’re happy to sign an NDA. Your intellectual property stays protected.
Where are the parts printed?
All parts are printed in-house at our Florida facility. That means faster turnaround, easier communication, and no outsourcing.
What industries do you serve?
We work with product designers, engineers, and manufacturers across industries including electronics, consumer products, industrial equipment, and medical device prototyping. Learn more in our Industries section.
